Review: Adequate
Recommendation: Not a bad game, but you can probably find something better for $0.99
Replay Value: Medium
According to the Developer, Buster Boy is based on 1989 Arcade Classic "Buster Bros." So if you're a fan of the game, Buster Boy might be worth looking at.
Buster Boy isn't a bad game by any means; it has decent graphics, stunning backgrounds, fun music, and smooth gameplay. In fact, the gameplay can be very addictive. Players control a boy in downtown Tokyo and must move him back and forth across the screen dogging bouncing balls. The goal is to survive to as high a level as possible, and players do so by popping the bouncing balls with a vertical beam that shoots from Buster Boy. Each time a large ball is popped, it divides into smaller bubbles until it can divide no more. There are a couple of power-ups to alter your beam. And that's the game in a nutshell. It can be addictive, and I'd consider recommending it for anyone who wants a very simple game with a bit of replay value. A single game can go very quickly depending on your level of skill.
The problem with this game (and games similar to this one) is that the App Store market has pressured so many developers to sell their apps at $0.99 that consumers can probably find a better game for the same price.
